    • Students may wear costumes if they choose but we ask no weapons, gore. We also remind you that Halloween masks are not a replacement for face coverings for COVID

Coulee Walk

"We went in groups and some people took pictures and some people too recordings of things in nature. And if we couldn't we find it we could whistle for a bird or tap our pencils on a tree." Allison

Math

"In patterns we were looking for patterns in math and we had groups and to be honest some of it was actually really fun." Hailey
"We had a hundreds chart and we had to figure out if there was the same thing on the back what would be the number that was on the back of 100, 23, 58, 19." Aria
"We had a hundreds chart and we tried to make as many ideas of patterns on a one hundreds chart with colourful pencils." Gabrielle



Map Annotation

"There was a map of Canada or India, Peru, Tunisia, Ukraine and we annotated it. So we wrote what we see, think, wonder." Sam
"We looked at real maps and we wrote with markers what was on it and what we think it was and wondered about it." Ian
"We went around to other people's maps and wrote things like see, think or wonder and we might answer some of their own questions." Isla




Picture and Sound Editing

"We looked at pictures and sounds and edited them so we could use them for our Land Acknowledgement." Tessa

"Why we edited them is because we are looking at Indigenous and different regions and we did it for Remembrance Day for something we can share." Charlie

   Important Dates May 30 - Bike to School begins June 7 - Grade 4 visit to TMC June 9 - Class photo retake June 13 - Grade 4 Heritage Park June 15, 16, 17 - Alien Inline Skating June 23 - Sports Day Reading Presentation We had a visit from librarian student Megan. She shared three stories about plants, trees and caring for the environment. Students got to participate in one of the stories using story sticks. Science Students began exploring some concept vocabulary for our work on building. Grade 3s will be looking at structures like towers, bridges and containers. Grade 4s will be looking at simple machines. Students worked in pairs to identify the meaning and characteristics of the vocabulary and used pictures to show what they mean. Students began work on our next round of science Wonder Centres on building. Some centres focus on history, some require students to modify a design, some have students creating their own design and others look at concept mapping. Social Studies...
