Spooky Stories
Mr. Tomczyk visited our class with some flashlights and spooky stories. We got to listen to two great stories in the dark with our flashlights.

Math
We continued our work with patterns this week. We looked at increasing and decreasing patterns. We also looked at using a chart or table to help organize data and help us recognize more number patterns. We worked on groups to solve some increasing shape problems, looking for what comes next.

Land Acknowledgement
Students put their finishing touches on their mindful moments from the coulee. The revised their writing to ensure they used descriptive language and to help the listener feel the emotions they felt while writing in the coulee. This week we practiced and recorded our introduction to the Land Acknowledgement for the Remembrance Day Ceremony.

Coulee Trip
On Tuesday we were able to spend some time the coulee with Elder Saa'kokoto and Karen, the land based artist. Students got a chance to learn some new Blackfoot words and discover ways to use parts of the land to create art. We explored different colours and textures while we continue the art on our own, using a white canvas to create a smaller piece as a group.

Party Planning
We are looking to wrap up our Hearing and Sound and Light and Shadow topics with a final project. Thanks to the generous Parent Council, we will be purchasing some supplies to help create a party atmosphere while sharing what we learned about how sound and light move and work. This week, we started by brainstorming some things you would need to make good music and a party and awesome lighting. Stay tuned to see our creations next week.

Art
Last week we practiced different techniques for sketching shapes. Today we took what we learned and created shape art. Students chose a shape to be at the centre of their page and built out a pattern from there. We will be using watercolour pencil crayon to finish them off.

Gym
In gym, we've been working on kicking and trapping skills. We played Monkey in the Middle and had a game of Dodge the Boulder, like Indiana Jones.
