Coding

We wrapped up coding today. This year we learned how to block code using Code.org, Scratch and Micro:bit. Students learned the basics of block coding in Code.org and then transferred that knowledge to work in Scratch. Students worked in partners to explore different types of programs, and then designed their own games. Today we used block coding to program some Micro:bits. Students made Rock, Paper, Scissors games, message boards and dice games. Students were encouraged to use problem solving strategies to find correct code blocks and de-bug their programs

Science Choice Boards

We've been wrapping up our work with plants and animals. Students have completed anywhere from 2-8 centres on their grade specific topic. Centres included research, hands on activities and using sketching to represent science exploration.
